Bolivians Don’t Read

Apparently Bolivians don’t read.

Not in the habit.

So I’m told by my Bolivian civil servant friend who tested this theory by attending a pro-government rally wearing a T-shirt declaring his support for TIPNIS, to wit, the main debate which threatens the very legitimacy of the government right now.

However, no-one noticed.

Not even his boss.

Well, I just saw someone with some sort of message emblazoned on his T-shirt and remembering this salutary lesson I paused to take it in.

And it went thus: I´d sooner be a well-known drunk than an anonymous alcoholic.

BIG UP LITERACY!
